Some of our learning

Thank you to Steve from 'Sports Start' for our enjoyment of games such as 'Freeze and Thaw', 'Traffic Lights', 'Hit the target' and 'Catch it' for the last 3 Fridays.

We are also enjoying our learning in Reading time .... researching and learning how to make paper darts/gliders to fly during morning tea and lunch times, reading about 'Matariki' and reading a story called 'The Helium Melon Seed Boy'. We are also taking up the challenge of trying to succeed in 'literacy tasks' on the I-pads.

Cosmodome

VERY VERY LUCKY STUDENTS TODAY .... COSMODOME,  NEW ZEALAND'S LEADING MOBILE PLANETARIUM, CAME TO OUR SCHOOL TODAY, WITH A VISITING ASTRONOMER, MR FISHER, TO TAKE US ON A TOUR OF THE UNIVERSE!! THIS WAS OUR STARTING POINT FOR OUR TERM TWO SCIENCE STUDY OF 'MATARIKI'.

Nepal

Today we enjoyed wearing mufti, bringing gold coins to school for the people of Nepal. We learnt about the significance of prayer flags in Nepal and saw many beautiful examples of them on google docs. We had fun making our own prayer flags, writing wishes on them for the people of Nepal.
