Busy, busy!!!

Room 3 has been learning about a model of learning called Solo Taxonomy. It helps develop a common understanding and a language of learning that helps teachers and students understand the learning process.

"Learning to learn" requires the learner to think about the strengths and weaknesses of their own thinking when they are learning and to make thoughtful decisions on what to do next.

We have been learning to understand this process of learning using guidelines for  'Managing Self' and guidelines for our weekly 'Dear diary...' writing:

We have been enjoying learning about Report Writing, and today after analysing many different reports over the last 5 weeks, we started planning our own report about an animal. We will continue to plan our own reports about a fruit we enjoy, a book we have read, and how sound is produced  linking in with our Science and Technology topic. Our aim is to produce a report written in paragraphs using a title, classification, description, location and a conclusion:

Strike Percussion!

What a treat this afternoon .... Strike Percussion from Wellington performing for our school ..... amazing talent, most enjoyable!!  Mrs C needed ear plugs though, haha!!
